This week is the much awaited Lab Week!
OK- so most of you don't know... In the medical field there is a solid week that is in honor of the Medical Laboratory Professionals (I am a Medical Laboratory Technician (runs teh tests) and my roommate is a Phlebotomist (draws the blood)-both are part of this group)... During this week at my facility we hold drawings for lab employees AND other staff who enter in our daily quiz- this year is "Name That Instrument" (special points awarded if you get the whole machine's name, not just our nicknames for them). We're having cup-cake wars (me cooking is dangerous but I'll try anyways!) And we're having at least one hosted dinner (no not with hosts as we'd hope- just something that the directors bring in for us)
So lab week is kind of like our "Nurse's Day" if you see those cards in Walmart... And trust me- I searched Hallmark, Target, K-Mart AND Wal-Mart and found not a single Lab Week card- so I'm not surprised you don't know what it is.
Take the opportunity this week to send a message of thanks for a job well done to your local Hospital's or Clinic's Laboratory! We work behind the scenes to get the results needed for the quality medical health care you deserve!

dang u did awesome on this. although i didnt expect really any less from you lol. Yay for lab week although im really not part of it yet. things to look forward to lol.
